Mino ware ceramics

Mino ware comes from Gifu prefecture, where kilns have been firing for well over a thousand years, and it still accounts for a large share of what sits on a Japanese table today. It is less a single style than a family of them: the green glaze of oribe, the milky white of shino, the iron black of setoguro. That is why Mino pieces sit comfortably beside almost anything else. Our range runs from ramen bowls to matcha bowls and everyday plates. To place Mino among Japan's other kilns, read our guide to Japanese ceramics, or compare it with Hasami ware, Arita and Kutani porcelain within our Japanese tableware collection.
