The cups are exactly as pictured. They are 3" in diameter inside, and 3 and 3/8" high. The horizontal ridges are very nice around the cup, giving it a nice handmade feel, but there are two odd vertical "grooves" on opposites of the cup that would appear to be left from dipping the cup into the glaze. If you hold the cup in just the right way, you don't feel the grooves, but if you want to turn the cup, craddling it between your two hands, in Japanese style, the grooves disrupt the aesthetic experience. The lip has a very nice finish. The weight of the cup is not very heavy, but it is no way fragile. The bottom of the cut is not glazed and is very blank showing the naked pottery: it calls out for a maker's mark.
