Authentic Japanese green tea, shipped from Japan
Source authentic Japanese green tea directly from our base in Fukuoka. Our selection covers the classics: vibrant Yamecha sencha, stone-ground Uji matcha, roasted hojicha, nutty genmaicha from Shizuoka, and refreshing mugicha for warm days. Every tea is chosen for daily brewing rather than collector pricing, so you can enjoy it without ceremony. Read our Japanese Tea Guide to find your ideal flavor profile.
Brewing matters as much as the leaf. Pair your tea with a kyusu from our Japanese teapots, keep water at the right temperature with a cast iron tetsubin kettle, or browse the full Japanese teaware range for whisks, canisters, and strainers.
Japanese green tea FAQ
What is the difference between sencha, matcha, and hojicha?
Sencha is steamed whole-leaf tea with a fresh, grassy taste: the everyday tea of Japan. Matcha is shade-grown tea ground into a fine powder and whisked rather than steeped. Hojicha is roasted green tea with a toasty flavor and lower caffeine, a good choice for evenings.
How should I store Japanese green tea?
Keep it airtight, away from light, heat, and strong smells. An opened pack is best finished within one to two months. A dedicated tea canister protects the leaves far better than the original bag.
Where do your teas come from?
Our teas come from recognized Japanese growing regions named on each product: Yame in Fukuoka prefecture for Yamecha, Uji for matcha, and Shizuoka for genmaicha. Every order ships from Japan. Curious about stem tea? Read everything about shiraore-cha.
