Tokoname kyusu teapots

The side-handled kyusu from Tokoname, in Aichi, is the standard teapot of Japanese green tea. Its unglazed red clay is rich in iron, which softens the astringency of sencha, and the built-in ceramic mesh strains the leaves without a metal filter getting in the way. Ours come from Tokoname workshops in shapes ranging from classic shudei red to modern matte glazes.
