Isn’t it beautiful? Made in Japan, this tea tin has been designed by Hakoya. It includes 2 lids, the main lid and an inner lid in order to protect whatever you chose to put inside. Note that the inner lid doesn't hermetically close the tea tin which is normal in Japan. This canister has an 11.8 oz. (350 ml) capacity which is a ‘medium’ size, definitely enough for almost anything from your kitchen, from spices to sugar and, of course, tea.
Sakura (桜) (cherry blossom) has a big importance in Japanese culture; this is why it is a common design for Japanese ware. The cherry blossom is so familiar to Japanese that, when they hear the word flower, the first thing that springs to their mind is the cherry blossom. This image of the cherry blossoms embodies “Mujokan” (the feeling of transience and emptiness) and “Isagiyosa” (giving up gracefully) which the Japanese think is the most beautiful way of life.
Originally designed for green tea, this box will be perfect to store your favorite coffee, finest teas or sweets.
